Which unit gets the sun?

Live 3-D shadow model for the BAUWERT KAI site. Drag the time and date sliders to sweep shadows across the courtyard; use the season presets to compare solstice vs equinox. The metrics strip shows real-time sunlit fraction for each unit's terrace and garden, plus daily sun-hours.

Massing approximation. Footprints, heights, trees and site north are calibration estimates from the 1:100 EG Lageplan — not a survey. Surrounding buildings, Tunnelstraße and the Rummelsburger See shore come from OpenStreetMap; neighbour heights are estimated from storey counts and they do occlude the sun (toggle Surroundings off to compare). Water sight-lines are cast from each terrace at standing height.

Live shadow cast

True-north up (compass bottom-left). Orbit with left-click drag · scroll to zoom · right-click to pan. The orange dome-arc is today's sun path (bright marker = current hour); coloured cells on the gardens/terraces are direct sun-hours for the selected day. Sun position updates with every slider change.

Right now & on the day

Apartment light — sun on the flat's walls

Facade sun

Direct sun-hours hitting each unit's exterior EG walls for the selected day — only the walls belonging to the apartment, only the ground-floor storey. This is the "light into the flat" measure, separate from the garden/terrace numbers (they drive the decision differently). Facade strips in the 3-D scene use the same colour ramp (toggle Window / facade sun).
Plan view — where & when the sun lands

Top-down sun-hours map

North up, east right. Each plot cell is coloured by direct sun-hours for the selected day (cool = shade, warm = full sun) — the primary "where does the sun land" view, unobstructed by buildings. Grey fills = buildings; translucent grey = their shadow at the current hour. Toggle the heatmap off to see relative sunlit fraction instead.
